Theophylline is primarily a bronchial dilator, indicated in the treatment of reversible airways obstruction, such as COPD and severe acute asthma.

Clinical Indications
Therapeutic drug monitoring Assessment of toxicity: symptoms include tachycardia, palpitation, nausea and other gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, CNS stimulation, insomnia, arrhythmias and convulsions, especially if given rapidly by intravenous injection

10-20 mg/L
Paediatric Range: 0 - 6 Months of 6-11 mg/L
