Test Background Neutrophils are an important component of the innate immune system and they are among the first cells to arrive at sites of injury. They play an important role in killing and removal of bacteria and fungi. This panel of tests is designed to assess neutrophil killing and phagocytosis.
Tests offered as part of this panel are neutrophil burst (NBT), neutrophil phagocytosis and measurement of adhesion molecules (integrins CD18, CD11 and selectin CD62L) on the surface of the neutrophil.
