Ganglioside antibodies


Test Background
There is a wide range of ganglioside antibodies, which includes IgG and IgM antibodies to GM1, GM2, GD1A, GD1B and GQ1b. GM1 antibodies are seen in Guillain-Barré syndrome. GQ1b antibodies are seen in the Miller Fisher variant.

Suspected Guillain-Barré syndrome Chronic demyelinating polyneuropathy Multifocal motor neuropathy

<500 = negative


Sample Required
RST (rust top), Can also be performed on CSF


Sample Volume
5-10 mL (1 mL serum)
