Beta 2-glycoprotein 1 antibodies


Test Background
β2-glycoprotein 1 is a co-factor for anticardiolipin antibodies. Anti-β2-glycoprotein antibodies are seen in antiphospholipid syndrome and can be related to the development of arterial and venous thromboses, venous thromboembolism, thrombocytopenia and fetal loss.


Clinical Indications

  • Assessment and diagnosis of:
  • vascular thrombosis and/or recurrent fetal loss
  • thrombocytopenia
  • heart valve disease
  • nephropathy
  • neurological disease.
