Lab Code : DHEAS
Test Background DHEAS is derived from the adrenal glands. Blood measurements of DHEAS are useful to detect excess adrenal activity as seen in DHEA-secreting adrenal tumours or incidences of hyperplasia including certain forms of CAH. Women with PCOS tend to have normal or mildly elevated levels of DHEAS.

Reference Range <11 Years : 0 - 5 μmol/L 11-19 years : 0 - 12 μmol/L 20-40 years : 0.7-11.5 μmol/L 40-60 years : 0.8-6.9 μmol/L >60 years : 0.4-4.7 μmol/L
