Test Background11DOC and 11-deoxycorticosterone accumulate in the presence of a functional or cumulative 11β hydroxylase deficiency secondary to congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH). This is one of the least common presentations of CAH. Measured also in the overnight metyrapone test for assessment of hypoadrenalism.
Clinical Indications Clinical picture of CAH with any of the following: overnight metyrapone test, hypervolaemic hypernatraemia with or without hypertension or hypokalaemia
