North West London students explore healthcare science at Imperial
100 GCSE students from schools from all around NW London participated in Reach Out For Healthcare Science 2016, a unique programme funded by Health Education England to give students the opportunity to explore careers in healthcare science.
Activities at Imperial included touring the pathology museums, getting kitted out ready for an Ebola outbreak and visits to audiology, pathology and radiotherapy at Charing Cross.
A team of biomedical scientists, clinicians and STP trainees from across pathology organised a day of hands on activities in the Charing Cross Laboratories. At the end of the week the students prepared posters about what they had learnt about healthcare science and the winning poster was inspired by the blood grouping exercise from their visit to haematology.
